Mission of Catholic Schools in Texas

The ministry of Catholic Education in general is the fulfillment of the educational mission of the Catholic Church and has as its primary goal the continuous formation of the Christian person.
As a pastoral instrument of the Church, the strength of the Catholic School is its ability to respond to the needs of the whole person, to serve the Church in a time of transition, and to demonstrate to the world a global perspective for a peaceful and sustainable future.
The Catholic School is a unique environment in which students can experience the presence of the Holy Spirit. Intellectually, pupils are challenged to work to the best of their abilities. In a world of diversity and absolutes, pupils need to be "free" to appreciate and understand the planet Earth, the people and cultures that inhabit it, and to develop global perspectives by which lives and consciences are formed. Pupils are provided opportunities to develop basic academic and physical skills, pursue knowledge, and critically study and analyze the world in which they live.
The effective Catholic School must call its pupils to the conviction that people are more important than the material gain, that justice is more important than success, that love is more important than esteem, and that collaboration unites while competition divides. Philosophy of Education:
We help students to develop their spiritual, moral, intellectual, social. emotional, and physical abilities within a community dedicated to living the gospel. All students attend Mass twice a week and receive daily religious instruction. In cooperation with the family, we help students to form character, so they will accept responsibility to fulfill their personal potential and learn to share their gifts through love for all. We believe that each child is loved by God and uniquely created for a sublime purpose. Therefore, we must help our students to love God and neighbor with a whole heart; to think, judge, and act with right reason; and to use their education to better embrace Catholic teachings and the example of Christ.
PRE-K PROGRAM:
A full-day program that enriches the children with many learning activities, music, movement, and discovery opportunities. The Pre-K Building is located on the corner of Ave I and 7th St.
LOWER ELEMENTARY GRADES (K - 2d)
A full range of school-related activities and course work is provided. The core classes are Reading, Writing, math, Science, and Religion.
UPPER ELEMENTARY GRADES (3 - 5)
These are the transitional grades that prepare the students for the more rigorous curriculum of junion high. Higher-order thinking skills are the basis for the majority of the lessons.
JUNIOR HIGH (6 - 8)
A full range of core classes, coupled with electives such as Drama, Latin, Spanish, and Band, create a well-rounded academic environment. Many of our students leave St. Mary's and move on to Holy Trinity Catholic High School where they find our aligned curriculum helps with the transition. For those students who leave St. Mary's to attend a public high school, they are prepared to meet the State standards for the T.A.K.S. tests.

Holy Trinity Catholic High School strives to educate the Christian

  History  &  Accreditation:
Holy Trinity Catholic High School was founded in 1997 and serves an area of Central Texas comprised of five counties. Bus service is available to students outside of the Temple/Belton area. As a school of the Diocese of Austin, Holy Trinity is under the direction of the Bishop of the Diocese of Austin and is accredited under the Texas Catholic Conference Education Department. The Texas Education Agency recognizes the TCCED as an accrediting agency.
  Campus & Facilities:
In December 2010, Holy Trinity made the move to our new, permanent campus on West Adams Avenue. Our new campus includes a chapel, 9 classrooms, conference room/teacher lounge area, computer lab, gymnasium, space for football, baseball, and softball fields, and portables for science, fine arts, and the athletic department. Future plans include a cafeteria and fine arts center as well as permanent locker rooms in the gymnasium, tennis courts, and additions to the main school building as we continue to grow.
  Curriculum:
All academic core courses are college preparatory and/or Advanced Placement or Pre-AP. In 2012, Holy Trinity added AP Spanish, AP Biology and AP Java Programming. The school also offers dual credit classes through the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.

Admissions Cycle:
End of January-End of February
  • Applications are being accepted for new students. Interviews are scheduled according to receipt of completed application.
  • Financial Aid applications are accepted. A limited amount of financial aid is available based on need and merit. In order to be considered for financial aid, students must submit a financial aid application on www.factstuitionaid.com .

March of each year

  • Interviews with applicants who have turned in completed applications
  • Cabrini Placement Test administered once the interview has taken place.

April of each year

  • Letters of acceptance are mailed.

July of each year

  • First tuition payment is due.
  • Bus registration is due if student requires bus service.

  ATHLETIC & ACADEMIC PROGRAMS: Holy Trinity Catholic High School competes in TAPPS (Texas Association of Private & Parochial Schools) for their academic and athletic competitions.
