The Altar Society is a volunteer ministry dedicated to the care and maintenance of the church’s interior decoration under the direction of the Altar Society Coordinator. Its work helps prepare the worship space for the changing seasons and celebrations of the Church.

Ministry Responsibilities

• Maintain close coordination with the Pastor, including meetings as required and annual meetings before Advent and Lent.
• Maintain an inventory and storage of decorations and property used for liturgical purposes.
• Care for the altar cloths and sacred vessels used by the Priest during Mass.
• Decorate the altar and church interior as appropriate for Sundays, Feast Days, Holy Days of Obligation, Penitential Services, and the administration of the Sacraments.
• Install and remove banners, flowers, manger scenes, and other seasonal decorations.
• Maintain the vestments worn by Priests, Deacons, and Acolytes during services.
