St. Paul parishioners known as the Tuckers serve as lay missionaries helping children living with HIV/AIDS in Cambodia through New Hope for Cambodian Children (NHCC). The organization works to help these children live as normal a life as possible by providing practical, compassionate support.

NHCC provides food support, medical transportation, school support, and hospital support. Working in partnership with the Cambodian Government in Phnom Penh and eight provinces, NHCC field workers visit children in their homes through its Home Base Care program. They help ensure that children receive proper food and medication on time, with medications checked weekly.

Support also includes transportation to and from hospitals so children can access treatment, school uniforms and supplies, and bicycles for children who live too far from school to walk. Field workers monitor the children’s school attendance and provide ongoing care.

NHCC also operates a village for children with HIV/AIDS who are orphaned or abandoned. The village includes 24 houses, each with five bedrooms and two bathrooms. Each home houses eight children with a loving caregiving couple. The children attend local schools in the morning and participate in classes in the village during the afternoon.
